Synergistic Advances in Pharmaceutical and Audiological Sciences: Integrating Nanomedicine, Artificial Intelligence and Phytotherapeutics for Auditory Health
##plugins.themes.academic_pro.article.main##
Abstract
The convergence of pharmaceutical sciences with advancing domains such as nanomedicine, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), sustained release delivery systems, personalized therapeutics, and phytopharmacology has transformed global healthcare paradigms. These technological shifts, although widely explored in oncology, neurology, metabolic disorders, and dermatology, are now gaining prominence in auditory health, especially for conditions such as sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), otitis media, sudden idiopathic hearing loss, tinnitus, and ototoxic drug-induced cochleopathies. The inner ear protected anatomically by the blood–labyrinth barrier (BLB) poses significant barriers for traditional drug delivery, making auditory disorders a prime target for innovative delivery platforms. The integration of matrix based sustained release carriers, nanoemulsions, solid lipid nanoparticles, phospholipid complexes, phyto nanomedicine, and AI-driven audiological modeling has paved the way for precision ototherapy. The present review synthesizes these multidisciplinary advancements with a specific focus on their translational potential in auditory sciences. The article also incorporates a broad spectrum of pharmaceutical innovations reported in the scientific literature, emphasizing how these developments can synergistically shape future therapeutics in auditory health.
