Data Sharing Policy
Data Sharing Policy
The MISJ – International Journal of Medical Research and Allied Sciences (MISJ-IJMRAAS) encourages transparency, reproducibility, and integrity in scientific research by promoting responsible sharing of research data associated with published articles.
1. Author Responsibilities
Authors are encouraged to make relevant research data, materials, protocols, and analytical methods available to editors, reviewers, and readers whenever reasonably possible.
Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to deposit datasets in recognized public repositories such as:
- Dryad
- Figshare
- Zenodo
- GenBank
- Institutional repositories
2. Data Availability Statement
All submitted manuscripts should include a Data Availability Statement describing:
- where the supporting data can be accessed,
- repository names and DOI/link (if available), or
- reasons why data cannot be publicly shared.
Example
“The datasets generated and/or analyzed during the current study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
3. Types of Data
Data may include:
- raw or processed datasets,
- statistical analysis files,
- software code or scripts,
- protocols and supplementary materials necessary to reproduce the study findings.
Authors are encouraged to use widely accepted, non-proprietary file formats whenever possible.
4. Exceptions and Restrictions
Data sharing may be restricted in cases involving:
- patient confidentiality or privacy concerns,
- legal or ethical limitations,
- institutional or proprietary restrictions.
In such cases, authors should clearly explain the restrictions within the Data Availability Statement.
5. Ethical and Editorial Compliance
The journal follows internationally recognized ethical publishing standards and encourages compliance with best practices for data transparency and reproducibility.
Editors may request access to supporting data during the peer review or editorial evaluation process if necessary.
Conclusion
MISJ-IJMRAAS supports responsible data sharing to improve research transparency, reproducibility, and scientific integrity while respecting ethical, legal, and privacy considerations.
