Corrections, Retractions and Withdrawals Policy
The MISJ-International Journal of Medical Research and Allied Sciences (MISJ-IJMRAAS), published by Malwa International Scientific Journals, is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal follows the recommendations and best practices of Committee on Publication Ethics for handling post-publication issues and ethical concerns.
1. Corrections (Errata)
Corrections may be issued when minor errors are identified in a published article that do not significantly affect:
- the scientific validity of the work,
- study results,
- interpretations,
- or conclusions.
Examples include:
- typographical errors,
- formatting mistakes,
- author affiliation corrections,
- or minor metadata inaccuracies.
A formal correction notice will be published, linked to the original article, and clearly labeled as:
- Erratum (publisher error), or
- Corrigendum (author error), where applicable.
2. Retractions
Retractions are issued when published articles are found to contain serious errors, invalid findings, or evidence of research or publication misconduct, including but not limited to:
- data fabrication or falsification,
- plagiarism,
- duplicate publication,
- unethical research practices,
- copyright infringement,
- undisclosed conflicts of interest,
- or major methodological errors that invalidate conclusions.
Retraction notices:
- are published openly and transparently,
- clearly state the reason for retraction,
- remain permanently linked to the original article,
- and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
Retracted articles may remain accessible for archival purposes but will be clearly marked or watermarked as “Retracted.”
3. Withdrawals
3.1 Pre-Publication Withdrawal
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before acceptance or publication by providing a written explanation to the editorial office.
3.2 Post-Publication Withdrawal
Post-publication withdrawal is permitted only in exceptional circumstances, including:
- serious ethical violations,
- legal disputes,
- court orders,
- or significant risks to participants or public safety.
All withdrawal requests are reviewed by the editorial board and evaluated in accordance with ethical publishing standards.
4. Expressions of Concern
The journal may publish an Expression of Concern when:
- credible evidence of misconduct exists,
- investigations are ongoing,
- or conclusive findings are not yet available.
This notice alerts readers while maintaining transparency during the investigation process.
5. Principles and Compliance
All correction, retraction, withdrawal, and post-publication actions are conducted in accordance with:
- Committee on Publication Ethics guidelines,
- principles of editorial transparency,
- and standards of responsible scholarly publishing.
The journal ensures:
- fairness,
- confidentiality where appropriate,
- transparency,
- and due process in all investigations and editorial decisions.
All notices are permanently linked to the affected article to preserve the integrity and traceability of the academic record.
